Support the Lead Engineer and the overall product development Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the structural analysis discipline. This position will entail the development of detail analysis, creation of documentation and substantiation reports, and general coordination of stress and fatigue analysis within the IPT and Core Engineering.
Review drawings, specifications, service bulletins, reports, etc. for compliance with applicable regulations
Static strength assessment, fatigue life assessment, and damage tolerance assessment using both manual analysis and finite / boundary element analysis modeling
Prepare FAA required aircraft type certification reports showing compliance with the appropriate FAA or Foreign regulations on all structural components by either analysis or test
Perform complex finite element analysis and modeling
Perform preliminary analysis on Marketing ideas and concepts effecting the aircraft structure and /or weight in coordination with FAA regulations
Conduct aircraft loads analyses, weight investigations and preparation of a structural design criteria report of new/preliminary aircraft designs in coordination with FAA regulations
Perform Aircraft flight and ground loads analyses, and preparation of a required FAA certification loads report
Support the execution of static or fatigue tests of structural components, prepare test procedures, observe and document static or fatigue test results in coordination with FAA type certification report
Document compliance with the applicable regulations covering the structural strength, crash protection, interiors, basic loads, weight balance, stress analysis, static test, dynamic test, fatigue analysis/assessment, and evaluation of the processes and fabrication methods required to produce aircraft structure
Analysis or test of flight test instrumentation racks, test equipment, etc. to Company Engineering Policy requirements
Prepare Company required equipment lists for each aircraft model
Support the IPT in the preparation of material for presentation at design and program reviews
Perform other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
An understanding and working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 23 is necessary to perform the duties of this position
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and a minimum of seven (7) years in structural analyses, test and design or equivalent education and experience.
Detailed knowledge of aircraft with respect to structure, materials and processes specifications, and certification requirements is essential.
Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) 21 and 23, related Joint Aviation Requirement (JAR), and Civil Aviation Authority (CAR) 3 required
Preferred:
Familiarity with FORTRAN, Visual Basic, and C+ computer programming; and experience in Finite Element analysis and modeling preferred
Familiarity with extracting CAD models using Siemens NX
