Join the team developing and enhancing the Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Fire Control (GFC) suite within the GMD Weapon System (GWS) program. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and testing software updates for the Command and Control (C2) Graphical User Interface (GUI) in a cross-functional Agile Scrum environment.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, document, test, and debug software applications and systems.
Collaborate with software and systems engineers to analyze requirements and define solutions.
Develop user interface functionality for Command & Control (C2) systems with a focus on UI/UX design.
Ensure software meets established standards, requirements, and performance objectives.
Support all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirements definition, design, coding, integration, and deployment.
Apply object-oriented programming techniques in C++ and/or Ada within a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environment.
Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing code for performance and reliability.
Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and contribute to team-based planning and delivery.
Apply systems thinking to ensure scalability, maintainability, and long-term usability of developed software.
Communicate effectively with teammates, technical leadership, and customer representatives.
Travel up to 10 to support business needs.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Active Top Secret Clearance required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
Experience with object-oriented programming languages (C++ or Ada).
Practical experience in UI/UX design and software design principles.
Experience in Red Hat Linux development environments.
Experience with debugging and troubleshooting software.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of direct C++ development experience (strongly preferred).
Prior experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) systems.
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) for software deployment and integration.
