About the role:
Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Flight Operations - Integrated Training Center team as a Simulator Quality Engineer Level 1 to be based in Doha, Qatar.
As a Simulator Quality Engineer Level 1, you will be responsible for the overall quality of the equipment used in FSTD and RTD-SEP training, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards set by regulatory authorities and company policy. You will assist in the planning, development, implementation, communication and maintenance of a companys quality management systems, polices, documentation, data, and customer specific requirements.
Specific responsibilities for the role include:
Ensure compliance with standards, identify issues, recommend solutions, and raise requests for procedure updates.
Spot check monitoring of maintenance activities to ensure work is accomplished in accordance with laid down policies and procedures.
Conduct quality checks on the training devices and provide the reports to the supervision team.
Perform spot check audits to compare documented engineering procedures against operational practices.
Participate in process analysis activities through monitoring and identification of non-compliances, root cause investigations, auditing, and failure analysis, to recommend improvements to Standard Engineering Procedures manual.
Support subject matter experts (qualified Type-Rated Instructors and Cabin Services trainers) to conduct Function & Subjective Test checks on Flight Simulator & Cabin Safety training devices, through control of the Instructor Operator Station and by standing in as acting First Officer where required.
Prepare draft reports for recurrent evaluations conducted under the EASA Extended Evaluation Program, detailing all the checks completed on the devices along with the latest performance indexes & trends.
Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance actions completed by the department’s maintenance operation simulator engineers, to ensure required availability and reliability targets are maintained on all training derives.
Support in the monitoring of subcontractor activities, by conducting the analysis of inspection tools and techniques that are defined and created by the Training Device Manufacturers (TDM) of the FSTDS’s, in order to define the method of inspection to be applied against maintenance and Objective testing records that are generated as part of the scope of the subcontractor service level agreement.
Conduct 1st level analysis of simulator technical data, by verification of QTG (Qualification Test Guide) results to confirm that recorded performance parameters are within declared tolerances to meet regulatory compliance.
