Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Architect.  This position is located in Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program. 

What You’ll Get To Do

  • Define and implement the schema for the requirements database for an expansive system of systems integrated across multiple networks into one database with hundreds of users using IBM DOORS
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in requirements management and relational database administration in DOORS to a team of engineers
  • Perform DOORS database administration and provide support to stakeholders from Systems Engineering & Integration, product teams, subcontractors, and the DoD/USAF
  • Implement and enforce configuration control and configuration management processes and policies for the system requirements baseline
  • Help to define and implement systems engineering processes, procedures, and governance for the Sentinel program related to requirements management throughout the Engineering Maturation & Development phase of the system life cycle
  • Help to define and execute integration processes, tools, and techniques in a model-based, digital engineering ecosystem with a focus on DOORS and Cameo
  • Help enable systems engineers and architects across a system of systems

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)  and 14 Years experience with Bachelors in Science, 12 Years experience with a Masters, and 9 Years experience with a PhD.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance with an in-scope investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must be eligible to obtain Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Experience with technical requirements management using IBM DOORS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing requirements databases using IBM DOORS including the use of custom DXL scripts
  • Experience as a database administrator including database schema creation, user permission schema definition, and database configuration
  • Experience on programs using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies
  • Experience with Cameo and Teamwork Cloud
  • Technical experience on large DoD Acquisition programs
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Sentinelsystems

Salary Range: $157,500 - $236,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
