An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an R&D Analytical Engineer Scientist I - Chemist within Honeywell UOPs R&D Materials Characterization group located in Des Plaines, IL. This position provides a unique opportunity to analyze samples from across R&D, Pilot Plants, and commercial refineries around the world.  

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The R&D Analytical Engineer Scientist I - Chemist will join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our research and development efforts, with a specific focus on liquid chromatography (LC), gas chromatography (GC), mass spectrometry (MS), and two-dimensional gas chromatography (GCxGC) analyses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Conduct routine and specialized chemical analyses using LC, GC, GC-MS, and GCxGC techniques. 
•Develop and optimize analytical methods for the identification and quantification of compounds. 
•Perform sample preparation, extraction, and data analysis. 
•Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments, including GC, LC , GC-MS, and GCxGC systems. 
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research projects. 
•Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately. 
•Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in chromatography and mass spectrometry. 

YOU MUST HAVE:
•Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
•2+ years hands on experience with GC, GCxGC, or LC, MS instrumentation
