Job Description:

Morson are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Naval marine client based in Leicester. This is initially for 12 months although highly likely to be long-term.

Main Purpose: 

The role exists in order to undertake quality related activities in support of the operational quality function in the attainment of project quality arrangements across all aspects of the project lifecycle.

Pay rates:

35-50.00 Umbrella

OR equivalent to :

up to 37.86 per hour PAYE /Plus holiday pay (please enquire)

• Developing and implementing project quality arrangements.
• Advising on all aspects of quality across the project lifecycle, including risks and issues.
• Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.
• Participation in project meetings and contract review / handover meetings.
• Review of enquiry, tender and contract documentation with respect to customers quality requirements and contract specifications, identifying any project specific requirements which fall outside the company quality system.
• Liaison with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that the quality and specification requirements are understood.
• The preparation of the project quality documentation, which may include the writing of project specific procedures / local working instructions including health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Supporting the project team in managing and closing out quality non conformances / issues.
• Monitoring the completion and compilation of project quality documentation in the form of Customer requirements, supplier submissions and internal working arrangements, typically comprising approvals of up-front manufacturing documentation, material certification, welding and NDT documentation, Inspection plans, test certificates, inspection reports, personnel qualifications and submitted Lifetime Record packages.

Additional Requirements:

• Carrying out supplier assessments.
• Conducting internal audits and supporting customer / third party audits.
• Collating, analysing and reporting quality relating data.
• Undertaking specific tasks as required by the operational quality function.

Knowledge:

• Good working knowledge of all relevant regulations and legislation.
• Good working knowledge and application of ISO 9001.
• An appreciation of associated standards (i.e. ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001)
• Good appreciation of Customers quality requirements.

Experience:

• Have experience preferably gained within a similar role in the Nuclear or other highly regulated industry.

• Questioning and proactive attitude.
• Customer focused both internal and external
• Computer literate (MSOffice), capable of adopting key Cavendish routines.
• An accurate, organized and tidy approach to record and document keeping.
• Continually seeks to improve working practices, performance and productivity
• Actively promotes health and safety

Other:

• Ideally be qualified to a HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject e.g. engineering.
• Ideally have current quality auditor training/experience.
• Willing to travel to locations / sites throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.
