Production Test Engineers (PTEs) are part of a manufacturing team who apply a variety of engineering and problem-solving skills to communicate, implement, maintain and optimize safe & effective production test environments and processes. Production Test Engineers use data analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action methodologies to maximize test yield, efficiency and value. They influence test strategies, architectures, systems and transition to production.  They validate and ensure compliance of the prime hardware to technical data package requirements and supporting test equipment.

What You Will Do:

As a Production Test Engineer, your responsibilities may include:  

• Validating new or modified test equipment for production use
• Ensuring the operation of test equipment and associated work instructions are accurate
• Ensure test equipment and software meet the test requirements specified for the product
• Assisting with monitoring and improving the test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure mode, and test yields
• Perform preliminary investigation of problem resolution
• Developing test flows and contributing to test capacity analysis
• Maintaining changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals and system software
• Assisting in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of the product or test equipment
• Participating in root cause and corrective action investigations
• Providing technical training in both product and test equipment to production test specialists and metrology personnel
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Clearance (ATF)

This job is posted as ONSITE and is based at Raytheon’s Farmington, NM site.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires: Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience.
• Experience writing and/or interpreting technical or engineering documents 
• Experience with data analysis 

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with advanced electronics/electrical engineering, basic mechanical engineering or basic computer programming 
• Experience with hands-on hardware integration and troubleshooting 
• Experience in Manufacturing environment and/or knowledge of product and test environment 
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment  
• Ability to develop sustaining solutions to routine technical problems 
• Available to cover additional shifts including some weekend work

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
