Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Cloud Engineer to maintain and enhance capabilities in support of DAF CLOUDworks at the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) in Rome, NY.

 

You will be an active part of a team providing technical support of customers leveraging DAF CLOUDworks.   Successful candidates should have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

This position may be filled at a higher level based on the qualifications below.

 

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Cloud Engineer:

  • One of the following:
    • A bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field with 5 years of experience
    • A master’s degree in a STEM related field with 3 years of experience
    • A PhD with 0 years of experience
  • An active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of Cloud-based technologies
  • Experience with DevOps pipeline development and sustainment
  • Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ in a timely manner
  • Experience with Containerization & Orchestration technology
  • Experience with Scripting
  • Experience working with Linux and Windows Operating Systems

  • One of the following:
    • A bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field with 9 years of experience
    • A master’s degree in a STEM related field with 7 years of experience
    • A PhD with 4 years of experience
  • A Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of Cloud-based technologies
  • Experience with DevOps pipeline development and sustainment
  • Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ in a timely manner
  • Experience with Containerization & Orchestration technology
  • Experience with Scripting
  • Experience working with Linux and Windows Operating Systems

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TS clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Experience with implementation of Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
  • Cloud Certification(s)
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Familiarity with Platform as a Service (PaaS) or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
  • Experience with DevOps tools, such as:
    • GitLab/GitHub
    • Jenkins
    • SonarQube
    • Docker or Podman
    • Kubernetes
    • Python
    • Ansible
    • Kubernetes / Helm / Kustomize
Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300
Salary Range 2: $121,000 - $181,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
