Senior Power Design Engineer job in McLeansville, North Carolina is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Aerospace / Defense company. As a Power Design Engineer you will be a memeber of a cross functional team responsible for Undersea Communication Systems. To qualify for this full time, direct hire, salaried job you will be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance, a degree in STEM and 8+ years of experience.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing Undersea Communication systems.
• Analog design and instrumentation (design and analysis)
• Power systems / Module design
• Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience, as well as advanced proficiency in testing, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics
• Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen wtih ability to obtain Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 8+ years of job-related experience or a masters degree and 6+ years of experience.
• Expert level understanding of electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design
• Circuit Design expertise
• Analog design and instrumentation (design and analysis)
• Power systems/ Module design.
• Multiple power topology design experience from few watts to KW+ converters.
• Feedback / Control systems experience
• Power System architectureand grounding
• Isolated Switching Converters
• Transmission Line Effects in power systems
• EMI test and control methods (MIL-STD-461, FCC / IDE / VDE, etc.)
• Magnetics Design and High-Speed Design experience is desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting ability: must be able to diagnose a problem by narrowing the point of failure sequentially through components.
• The use of specialized laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment for development, testing, and troubleshooting
• Experience in writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems and components
• Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience, as well as advanced proficiency in test, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics
