MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology or related.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in an Aircraft Engineering environment. Experience requirement may be reduced by two (2) years with M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Management.
- One (1) year of managing technical projects and/or complex activities. Experience should be gained in one of the following areas: Research and Design, Product Engineering, Stress Engineering, Design Engineering, or Technical Project Management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Be able to climb into various areas of an aircraft with or without reasonable accommodation
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fluent in French
- Project Management Professional Certification
- Experience in aircraft structure or completions design
- CATIA/ VPM experience
- Working knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations procedures
- Familiarity with computer database construction
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Onsite working conditions, although remote work may be available on a case-by-case basis.
- Night, weekends, and/or holiday coverage may be required.
- Domestic and international travel is required. Sometimes with little notice.
- Must be able to climb into various areas of the aircraft being completed and be able to climb stairs with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must not be sensitive to noise (rivets being bucked, aircraft engines, etc.).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Achieve project success by managing all activities of project lifecycle to deliver desired outcomes. Including:
- Coordinating with Program Manager or Program Engineer, Aircraft Design Managers, Team Leaders, in the development of project workscopes, schedules, deliverables, and adherence to program plan and budget
- Identifying project risks and developing risk mitigation plans.
- Monitoring project progress and organizing metrics and formal technical reviews.
- Providing regular, accurate, and timely project status to management and other stakeholders.
- Responsible for ensuring Design Engineering and Research and Design Engineering conform to company procedures for design control.
- Responsible for configuration management (certification, change management, design evolutions, etc.) of dedicated projects.
- Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the FARs, Regulations, and Certification Requirements as applicable to Aircraft Completions.
- Recommend, initiate and complete new tools and/or processes to increase overall efficiency of projects.
- Mentors less experienced members of the team.
