Mechanical Engineer for executing multiple medium size projects
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for design, basic and detailed engineering of the mechanical skids and other mechanical solutions. Project specific as well as support for standardization process.
Supporting the development of FDS.
Monitoring and supervising sub suppliers, performing test, FAT, commissioning and start up.
Ensure compliances to applicable codes and standards and adherence to QMS. High focus on ON time delivery, first time right and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Designing and engineering of skids and other mechanical solutions
- Support PM and LE influencing the conceptual design for the basic engineering (P&ID, system Architecture, Layout, FDS, …)
- Generating conceptual design document, in a P&ID and a GAD
- Design verification
- Support engineering documents, i.e. P&ID, wiring diagrams, commissioning manual, production procedures
- Prepare and/or review RFQ packages
- Perform technical bid evaluation
- Work closely with sourcing
- Technical interface to sub suppliers
- Sub suppliers: Monitor and ensure technical compliance, quality, on time delivery
- Ensures that the engineered solution meets project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, and supporting documentation and implementation process at minimum cost by allocating work assignments to project team fully utilizing standard builds & standardized work
- Provide inputs to mechanical designer / prepare / review General Arrangement Drawing of the Skids based on P&IDs and FDS
- Provide inputs to mechanical designer / prepare / review Piping Layout Drawing, Isometric Drawing, Piping Support Drawing, Frame Layout
- Issue/Verify Piping Classes Document for specific projects
- Prepare Piping Material Specification, Valve material specification, BOM
- Ensure compliance with regulation, code, specifications and pipe-classes
- Communicates and interfaces with other disciplines
- Quality Control of piping work executed by Sub-Contractors
- Check deliverables developed by Sub-Contractor including support locations and design
- Evaluate quotation of mechanical equipment such us valves, vessels etc received from Sub-Contractors
- Trouble shooting
- Support/execute Commissioning & start up
- Safety: Adherence to safe work practice and company policies
- Quality: Adherence to QMS, Collaborate with Quality & Project manager on engineering deliverables
- Standardization: Support standardization of products and solution
Qualifications
BS or BA degree, Mechanical Engineering
AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, …
Proven experience in designing skid based units for natural gas or liquid
Proven knowledge about mechanical and piping design codes and standards like ASME, EN, PED, etc
Ability to analyze complex problems and arrive at sound solutions
Solution and conceptual oriented thinking
Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment • Strong written and oral communication skills
Language skills: Dutch, English fluent. French and German appreciated
