Position Summary
With minimum supervision, responsible for complex engineering administrative duties which require independent judgment and familiarity with engineering procedures, documents, schedules and specification requirements.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate, write and/or compile information for engineering and external customer data projects, proposals, technical reports and presentations in accordance with appropriate company or customer specifications.
• Interface with engineering, spaneting, and planning to clarify details of source materials.
• Organize, maintain and edit databases for specified data requirements. Design and generate custom reports for both internal and external customers. Distribute communication material between appropriate team members and customers.
• Perform other administrative duties in support of program or engineering activities.
• Actively participate and support the plant’s safety program. Report any injury or near miss immediately to your Group Lead or EHS Manager. Report all unsafe conditions immediately to a Group Lead, Value Stream Manager or EHS Manager.
• Actively participate in the High Performance Team designated for your area. The HPTs are meant to improve the work experience by allowing the employees an opportunity to offer suggestions for improvement.
• Record accurate and timely data, including order completions and quantity on daily labor reports, reclaim tickets, for reject parts and daily hours worked.
• Daily attendance is a requirement of the job, as is arriving on time. Overtime is expected when customer demand dictates the need.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
- Associates degree (two-year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: Engineering, Business, or Drafting
- Bachelors Degree (four-year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: Engineering or Business
- 1 plus years of experience in manufacturing environment
- Strong computer skills needed. Ability to use standard business applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes, etc.
- Ability to generate customer reports required with either personal computer or main frame systems.
- Ability to clearly and effectively interpret complex technical information derived from engineering drawings, schematics and procedures to comply with customer requirements.
- Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
