STS Technical Services is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Assistant to join our client’s team at Global Power Components in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position involves a variety of electrical design tasks, including creating detailed schematics, layouts, and drawings essential for construction and production. The ideal candidate will be adept at working both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team, handling design queries, and ensuring high-quality outcomes in electrical projects.

Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical design, layout, and load calculations for various projects.
  • Produce accurate and detailed construction drawings, wiring schematics, conduit and equipment layouts.
  • Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and assist with part substitutions in coordination with the purchasing department.
  • Develop documentation such as labels and panel schedules necessary for construction.
  • Provide support to the production team by addressing design-related queries.
  • Participate in quality control and testing of finished electrical products.
  • Assist in the cost estimation process for the electrical components of projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience of 5 years in a related field.
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to travel occasionally between company facilities in the Milwaukee area.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, and strong typing skills.
  • At least one year of experience using AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and experience in electrical load calculations.
  • Experience with large power generation equipment or electrical room layouts and construction.
