Role Summary
* This role supports electrical power system modeling and simulation activities for aircraft electrical subsystems. The position focuses on developing, validating, and documenting complex aircraft power system designs through modeling, simulation, and technical requirements development. Work is performed in collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure system performance, safety, and compliance. Education & Job Requirements
* You must have
* A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering classification, or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience, or a PhD with relevant experience.
* Experience specializing in electrical power systems, power electronics, or automatic controls.
* Experience with electrical system modeling and simulation.
* Previous experience designing electrical equipment systems.
* Knowledge of electric power systems, modeling and simulation tools, and model-based engineering techniques. Preferred Skills
* You will have
* Experience in modeling aircraft electrical power systems and subsystems.
* Experience simulating active and passive power conversion equipment.
* Experience working with motor controllers, electric motors, and generators.
* Experience in analyzing power distribution and protection equipment.
* Experience characterizing system failure modes and power quality through simulation.
* Experience validating electrical system protections through simulation and testing. Job Duties & Functions
* You will be able
* Support aircraft electrical power system modeling and simulation activities.
* Assist engineering teams with modeling active and passive power conversion equipment.
* Perform simulation work to assess system power quality and failure modes.
* Design and validate electrical system protection strategies.
* Develop and document complex electrical power system requirements.
* Validate system requirements through simulation and testing.
* Collaborate with adjacent engineering teams to support subsystem integration efforts.
* Support program, system, and subsystem engineering activities related to electrical power systems.
