Our client is seeking a Configuration Engineer for a 6-month initial contract position.

Remote/hybrid working is available but time on-site will be required at times to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support configuration management within Windchill
• Ensure accurate creation, modification, and release of engineering BOMs and documentation
• Control changes through Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) / Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment
• Conduct configuration audits and support compliance activities
• Maintain documentation, version control, and traceability across systems
• Support issue resolution relating to configuration discrepancies

Key Skills

• Proven ability in a Configuration Engineering / Configuration Management role
• Strong working knowledge of Windchill PLM system
• Experience managing BOMs, change control, and engineering documentation
• Understanding of configuration management principles (e.g., ISO/industry standards)
• Good understanding of Product lifecycle and design review gates
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage cross-functionally

• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines
• Self-motivated with a “get the job done” mindset
• Occasional out-of-hours work effort availability would be a plus

Desirable

• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or regulated industries
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., IFS, SAP)
