The Technical Engineering Department is responsible for the operation and supervision of the maintenance of Icelandairs aircraft fleet. We are looking for an avionics engineer to work in the engineering section of the company, in Icelandairs aircraft electrical equipment, data analysis, processing of airworthiness directives and changes from authorities and manufacturers, and support the technical operation of the company.
The Avionics Engineer will work closely with many other departments of the company.
The Technical Engineering Department of Icelandair has its office in the headquarters of Icelandair at Nauthólsvegur and also has an outpost at the companys maintenance facility in Keflavík. The Technical Engineering Departments office will then move to new headquarters in Hafnarfjörður around the turn of 2024/2025. This position is stationed at the Icelandair headquarters but may also require presence at the Icelandair maintenance facility in Keflavík.
Responsibilities:
- Technical specialist of the company in aircraft electrical systems and avionics
- Analysis and processing of data related to the airworthiness of Icelandairs aircraft
- Data processing and analysis
- Handling and resolution of changes from aircraft and component manufacturers
- Introduction and operation of avionics equipment
Qualifications and Education:
- Education in avionics, electrical engineering, or aircraft maintenance (B2 certification)
- Experience in aircraft maintenance management is an advantage
- Very good English and computer skills
- Thorough and precise work habits
- Initiative and independence
- Strong safety awareness
