We have an opportunity for an Applications Engineer to join our team in Bloomfield, CT. The Applications Engineer researches, develops, and designs solutions for bearing applications to meet customer requirements, productivity and quality expectations. They also manage projects within designated cost, quality, and timelines.

- Create bearing designs and Kamatics proposal drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs to meet customer requirements within quality, cost and timeline expectations.
- Provide answers to customers’ technical questions.
- Create test plans and/or test reports for planned or completed in-house bearing tests, as required.
- Consult with Sales on product requirements. Assist Sales with presentations or may create technical presentations for use by Sales personnel. Deliver formal technical presentations or have face-to-face discussions with internal and external customers on detail design and product issues.
- Develop project plans and execute short to mid-term projects dealing with customer specific product development activities and/or Kamatics new product development projects.
- Contact Kamatics suppliers to obtain technical and cost information on materials and capabilities. Produce cost estimates for new Kamatics design proposal for use by Sales.
- Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and processes. Report safety incidents to supervisor.
- Make recommendations for improvements to work processes. Contribute to 5S program in work area.
- Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contribute to positive teamwork environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in training/learning other positions. Accomplish related results as needed.
Education: | BS degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical/Metallurgy/Civil Engineering preferred. |

Experience: | 3-5 years in mechanical design, working with close tolerances in a manufacturing environment with Computer Aided Design programs. |
