Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for aerodynamic analyses, methods development, and training of other engineers for the purpose of developing new aircraft that meet company and regulatory performance and handling-quality requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development of aircraft performance and stability & control models from analytical data, computational fluid dynamics, and wind-tunnel data.
  • Development of in-house programs using FORTRAN, MATLAB, C , and Microsoft Excel.
  • Participation in the full aircraft development process, from early advanced design efforts to flight testing and certification.
  • Collaboration with other engineering disciplines such as Advanced Design, Mass Properties, Flight Controls, Propulsion, Mechanical Systems, Engineering Flight Test, Stress, Fatigue, and Systems Safety.
  • An understanding of 14 CFR Part 23 and Part 25 performance and handling-qualities regulations and the knowledge to develop design changes necessary to ensure compliance.
  • Documentation of results in memos and certification reports for internal customers and global certification authorities.
Job Requirements:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering is required
  • Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft development programs or relative field required


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience training other engineers in aircraft performance and handling qualities, collaborating with others on small teams, developing clear written communications, and presenting complex topics to peers and management
  • Fluency with programming languages, MATLAB, and Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience developing new and derivative aircraft with relevant experience in aerodynamic analysis, which includes, but is not limited to, computational fluid dynamics, the collection and reduction of wind tunnel data, the development of aerodynamic models, and the use of simulation tools.
