Core Responsibilities
Installation:
- Install and assemble electronic components like switches, instruments, and control systems, often following blueprints, schematics, and technical orders.
Inspection and maintenance:
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs to ensure all systems are functioning correctly and meet safety standards.
Troubleshooting:
- Use logic, reasoning, and specialized test equipment to diagnose malfunctions and systemic problems in electronic systems.
Repair:
- Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective parts, which can include complex micro-miniature modules on computer circuit cards.
Testing:
- Perform functional and flight tests to verify the performance of electrical and electronic systems.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed and ensure all maintenance is compliant with aviation regulations.
Collaboration:
- Work with other technicians, engineers, and pilots to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve issues.
