Overview

Job Summary

Responsible to fabricate, assemble, install and terminate avionics and medical systems wiring harnesses for aircraft completions. Perform continuity and power and ground checks for post installation wiring accuracy. Perform configurations and calibration of avionics and medical equipment. Perform post installation system operational checks.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

• Fabricate, assemble, repair, install, modify, test, operate, and troubleshoot aircraft installed avionics and electrical systems, modules and components
• Mark wires. Assemble, lays-up, terminate (crimp and solder) and test wire harnesses to engineering schematic specifications
• Fabricate avionics, electrical, and medical wiring systems to engineering schematic specifications
• Check drawings, job cards and parts kits for accuracy and applicability for assigned tasks and advises lead and/or supervisor of deficiencies
• Perform electrical continuity checks, operational tests, and acceptance test procedures per engineering and manufacturer’s instructions on installed avionics and electrical systems, modules and components
• Troubleshoot, repair, and modify aircraft electrical, avionics, and medical systems per manufacturer’s instructions, engineering schematics and accepted industry practices
• Perform FAA and repair station administration - Documents maintenance and installation activities changes in work orders, FAA Form 337s, aircraft weight and balance sheets, equipment lists, log books, etc.
• Record work progress, certifications, completion and testing on various production documents per ISO standards and established company
• Perform activities related to fabricating, assembly, repair, modification, testing, operating and troubleshooting of avionics/electrical modules, components, and wire harnesses
• Perform activities related to assist in avionics, electrical and medical systems design activities
• Assist with planning of installations, repairs, and modifications
• Assist with planning and documenting in-flight testing, certification, and troubleshooting procedures
• Maintain aircraft, work area, and hangar cleanliness
• Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education & Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
• Five years of avionics experience or four years military avionics experience, to include routing of wiring harness and terminate wiring and coaxial cable.
• Applicant must meet the requirements of FAR 65.101 except for the recommendation by the employer.
• Formal Electronics/Avionics Training.
• Formal soldering training or demonstrates acceptable performance.
• Basic understanding of FAA certification processes.

• Ability to manage several projects concurrently
• Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels
• Ability to be a team player with a professional attitude

Computer Skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• FCC license preferred
• FAA A&P or meet requirements to obtain a FAA repairman certificated preferred

Pay Range
USD $28.00 - USD $40.00 /Hr.
