About the role:
Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Group Risk, Safety & Security (GRS&S) team as a Senior Business Analyst to be based in Doha, Qatar.
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will responsible for overseeing and monitoring business applications to derive maximum benefit through automation of business activities and processes of Group Risk, Safety and Security (GRS&S) department. You will proactively assess, evaluate and recommend IT System needs, and work in coordination with IT department to implement the agreed IT work program and software solution. In this role, you will also serve as a liaison between business department stakeholders and IT team, capturing requirements from business users and preparing necessary Business Requirements Documents (BRD), and conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) prior to system implementation.
Specific responsibilities for the role include:
- Evaluate business processes, perform process modelling and gap analysis to uncover areas for improvement, and identify areas where automation and digitalization can enhance business processes.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, IT development team, external solution providers and internal supporting departments to implement process improvements.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest IT advancements in collaboration with IT team and suggest solutions to enhance existing systems and to implement new systems.
- Conduct requirement workshops, perform requirements analysis and prioritize initiatives based on business requirements.
- Perform structured and rigorous User Acceptance Test (UAT), certify production readiness of IT applications, and help with business readiness and system rollout.
- Produce complete and high-quality document deliverables including but not limited to Business Processes, Scenarios, Use Cases, Test Cases, Test Reports, User Guides and Help Manuals etc.
- Effectively communicate and present outcome of analysis, feedbacks, insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
- Gather critical information from meetings and interactions with various stakeholders and produce useful reports and outputs.
- Work closely with IT team to evaluate systems and applications and identify gaps in current applications / processes for further development/ improvement by IT Team based on inputs received from business stakeholders.
- Work as the business domain representative and focal point for all system enhancements and development projects for GS & S and assist the IT team in understanding the business requirements, objectives and pain points; provide all the necessary inputs for the team to develop technical solution and implement system in a timely manner.

Qualifications
About you
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Relevant College or University qualification in Engineering or Computer Science with a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience.
- Experience in working as part of IT development team as a business analyst, requirements analyst, or functional tester or in similar role in business area collaborating with IT.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in preparing business requirement documents and performing manual software testing.
- Good knowledge and experience in process analysis, gap analysis and mapping of business processes to IT system processes.
- Experience in managing and influencing stakeholders and working closely with them to extract requirements, gather viewpoints and determine acceptable solutions.
- Knowledge of end-to-end software development life cycle, starting from requirements phase until delivery and rollout.
- Well versed in tools like Visio or equivalent to create business process flow diagrams as part of process modelling and functional requirements elaboration.
- Good knowledge in preparing and presenting content-rich and visually appealing presentations by using tools like MS PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizing/planning and analysis skills.
- Sound working knowledge of MS Office applications including, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
