Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is currently bidding on a contract to provide flight training support services for the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command (USASAOC) We are seeking highly qualified Civilian Flight Operations Specialist to support USASOAC’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (160th SOAR) and the Special Operations Aviation Training Battalion (SOATB).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Coordinate and maintain flight schedules, air crew mission status boards, flight plans, meteorological, navigational, and other information to support SOATB flight operations requirements.
- Manage day-to-day flight operations.
- Schedule aircraft to support SOATB flight training and operations. The Contractor shall dispatch aircraft to include accountability of fuel cards and other equipment.
- Conduct flight following services for all assigned or attached aircraft.
- Maintain flight records IAW appropriate regulations and policies.
- Maintain a flight publications library to include making ordering recommendations to Government personnel to ensure that there are sufficient publications for all aviators assigned to SOATB. All orders will be made by Government personnel.
- Maintain aviator reading files and hazard maps for currency.
- Receive, maintain, and issue aeronautical publications, maps, charts, and regulations required by SOATB aircraft crews, simulator instructors and instructor pilots.
- Maintain communication with aircraft filed with SOATB Flight Operations for flight following purposes and other information concerning aircraft safety to pilots during flight using High Frequency (HF), Satellite Communications (SATCOM), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Very High Frequency (VHF) and Frequency Modulations (FM) radios.
- Maintain flight plans for operating under visual flight rules (VFR) until completion of flight to include a flight strip log recording over 2,500 aircraft flight per year. The Contractor shall initiate search procedures for overdue aircraft by performing ramp checks, radio and telephone inquiries to Campbell Army Air Field (CAAF) Base Operations, Flight Service Station, Eagle Control, and destination airfields posted on the flight route. Report lost or over-due aircraft to SOATB Flight Operation Officer/NCOIC, Commander, Safety Officer, and maintenance officials. Maintain written records of messages transmitted and received.
- Provide current Notice of Air Missions (NOTAMS) and activate the SOATB severe Weather Plan notification in the event of severe weather warnings.
- Maintain files of all other NOTAMS received and originated by other facilities.
- Maintain an average of 300 flight records annually of staff aviators and crewmembers for SOATB and 160th SOAR (A), non-rated crew members, student officers, enlisted crew members, and contractors.
- Prepare aeronautical award packets for qualified aviators and enlisted crewmembers.
- The Government is the final approval authority for the aeronautical award packets. TMonitor theminimum monthly flight hours, qualify crewmembers and flight surgeons for hazardous duty incentive pay, andprepare monthly flight pay certificates. The Contractor shall close out of aviator and crewmember flight records IAW AR 95-1 and USASOC Supplement 1 to AR 95-1, TC 3-04.11, and ARSOA 3-04.11.

Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of three years experience as a Flight Operations Specialist and knowledge of but not limited to operations, flight records and flight following.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

The projected compensation range for this position is $70000 to $130000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAGs total compensation package for employees.
