POSITION PURPOSE

Provides guidance and work direction to LIFT Crew Schedulers to ensure the compliance of the Instructor/Student schedules and ensure flights are properly staffed according to Company and FAA government regulations. Oversees and supervises the monitoring and quick recovery activities performed by Crew Schedulers.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Oversees the daily transactions for the LIFT Crew Scheduling team as well as providing work direction and guidance on critical decisions to the team.
  • Fields concerns and complaints by instructors, students, crew schedulers and escalates as necessary.
  • Assists in scheduling students and instructors.
  • Monitors all flights regarding block, rest, and duty.
  • Monitors negative turns and potential downline delays and creates recrew opportunities.
  • Keeps operations posted of any delays, cancellations, and swaps and makes the final call on delays and cancellations.
  • Ensures the best utilization of crewmembers.
  • Ensures all open flying is covered.
  • Provides daily turnovers to the next shift, the scheduling manager, and other members of the management team.  
  • Ensures all crew scheduling tasks are completed.
  • Provides excellent and timely customer service to crewmembers, including hotel and flight crew reservations and deadhead passes when required.
  • Provides coaching and on-the-job training as directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 
  • Two years of previous customer service or call center experience.  
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with aviation related software systems required.
  • Able to utilize Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to perform high-level decision making and goal setting within strict time constraints.


PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Aviation
  • One year of crew scheduling experience
  • Experience in a call center environment.
  • Experience leading others.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.  Able to deliver negative information in a tactful and professional manner.


REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.    Able to deal with conflict effectively while treating all employees with respect.


DECISION MAKING

Makes limited decisions and determines best methods to solve problems by referring to established precedents and policies.  Impact of decisions is moderately low.

  • Travel up to 10 of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.
