Position Overview
The Instructional Designer will work with Subject Matter Experts to create online learning modules, live web-based training sessions, and instructor-led training courses. The Instructional Designer will use strong interpersonal, written, and visual communication skills to bring together text, images, video, and audio to produce an interactive learning experience.
Essential Duties
- In partnership with the Training and L&D teams, design and develop instructional materials, including instructor-led and online courses, manuals, and multimedia presentations that meet learning objectives.
- Convert existing course material to CBT for delivery by HAECO’s LMS system.
- Create storyboards, outlines, and prototypes to communicate design concepts.
- Utilize various eLearning tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate) to create interactive content.
- Ensure all materials adhere to best practices in accessibility and inclusivity.
- Evaluates learning vendors and software tools to be selected for training.
- Revise and update existing courses based on feedback and emerging trends.
- Collaborates with leaders and subject matter experts to create metrics to be used in evaluating training effectiveness.
- Stay current with advancements in instructional design, technology, and adult learning theories.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What you need: (Requirements)
Minimum
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in instructional design and/or eLearning development.
- One (1) year of experience using learning assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of learning courses
- Prior experience with Learning Management Systems and eLearning authoring tools.
- Must have demonstrable skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Adobe Captivate.
- Must be able to travel domestically by driving and/or flying (5)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field
- Graphic design and multimedia production/editing experience.
- ATD certification (formerly ASTD)
Physical Requirements
- Normal office environment where approximately 90 of work is performed in a sitting position with the remaining time walking and moving around the office area.
- Filing duties require typical bending, stooping, reaching, and stretching.
- Occasional trips to the hangar areas may be needed to deliver correspondence weighing less than 25 pounds.
- Normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination for keyboard operations is necessary.
- Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required.
