The Sr. Accountant/Plant Accountant will provide broad accounting support with a focus on division initiatives and plant operations. This role will support key accounting activities during the Division’s SAP conversion and will be responsible for cost analysis, as well as period-end close and reporting, including closing the books across multiple systems during the transition.
You Main Responsibilities:
Assist division management in making financial based decisions.
Provides local management with financial and statistical information to enable them to better control operations.
Conduct analyses and provide information to division management team.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of financial statements and analysis.
Prepare and record journal voucher entries, accruals and reclassifications ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Prepare and maintains balance sheet reconciliations with high data integrity.
Maintain and analyze standard costs and perform cost rolls to support cost updates.
Ensure compliance with corporate objectives and systems for accounting, payables, receivables, payroll and inventory operations as applicable.
Maintain SOX or internal control documentation related to business and accounting processes.
Planning, preparing and leading physical inventories while ensuring adherence to all inventory control procedures.
Support lean/continuous improvement projects by quantifying financial impact and tracking savings realization.
Assist with the asset inventory records as needed.
We are looking for talent with:
- BS accounting required; CMA or CPA a plus
- 5-7 years’ experience; Manufacturing environment; strong excel skills, demonstrated engagement throughout the business.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong organizational skills
- Multi-tasker, deadline-oriented
- SAP experience a plus
- Willingness to spend time on the shop floor where required,
- Analytical mindset
