Gatwick Ground Services was established in 2016, to support the ramp operations of British Airways at Gatwick. Following its success, the company branched into Aircraft Cleaning in 2018. In 2020, Passenger Services formed the newest department within the GGS business to provide an all-round ground handling option.
Our operations across two stations supports British Airways, Air India, Iberia Express, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and Vueling Airlines providing a complete ground handling solution.

The role:
Operations Controller
Reporting to the Head of Dispatch and Operations, you will be part of a team providing 24 hour coverage and responsible for the smooth and effective running of our LGW operation. The purpose of the Operations Controller is to control and monitor the airside operation for both GGS and our airline partners (within a 48hr window) ensuring all operational deviations and issues are effectively communicated to all internal and external stakeholders, whilst managing data input into FINDnet. This position is also responsible for ensuring our A-CDM and Dispatch obligations are met consistently during the daily operation.
You will already possess relevant skills in the areas of resourcing and delivering a daily operation, be able to demonstrate flexibility and have strong co-ordination and crisis management skills during times of disruption. You will also possess strong and effective people management skills as well as a full understanding of H&S policy for both LGW and GGS industry and legislative regulations.
The shift pattern for this position is currently 4 days on and 4 days off consisting of two day shifts 0600-1800 followed by either two late shifts 1100-2300 or two night shifts 1800-0600.
What youll do:
• Delivery of the day to day operation.
• To ensure compliance with the company’s health & safety policies.
• To ensure the reporting of attendance and absence processes are adhered to.
• Strong communication skills to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Update FINDnet and communicate to all departments.
• Oversee and ensure correct data input into the billing system
• Provide operational management analysis reports as required.
• To ensure effective control of seasonal and daily operational scheduling.
• To be actively involved in all aspects of the airside operation.
• Be conversant in operating and imputing data into FINDnet, IDAHO, A-CDM and any other current operational systems.
What youll bring to Gatwick Ground Services:
• The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills in order to convey information to staff and other parties, using written and oral skills.
• A good knowledge of our current customer requirements is essential as well as the completion of any necessary documentation and systems currently used.
• Good people skills are required in order to motivate and lead effectively in difficult situations while under operational pressure.
• You should have a high standard of personal expectation and the ability to lead by a professional example.
Your experience:
• CRC compliant to enable airside ID pass
• You will require a minimum of 3 years experience working in a Ground Handling and/or Airline environment, preferably in an Operations role.
• Educated to A Level standard or equivalent
What we offer:
Salary £33,306.94 (£17.08ph) increasing to £35,441.71 (£18.18ph) following the successful completion of 6 months probation, plus £2,280.00 additional annual shift pay
Overtime paid at time and a half during the week, and double time at weekends and Bank Holidays.
